How to begin. This magazine started out as “All About Homes”, a realy cool catchy name for a magazine eh? So, they left that as the company named and changed the magazine name to “Xclusive”… now that is Uper Ool!!!!

They publish every 2 weeks, because after all, we all want to see the same ads at least twice a month. And the ads? 50% Stoney Monday Empire conglomerate and 50% Lynx Management.

Their website is defunct as of writing of this post, and they seem to have no direction, just shooting aimlessly in the dark, and like elevator music, trying to cater to everyone’s interests.

We actually tried placing an ad with these people a while back and it was like dealing with a paranoid crack dealer. In fairness, they know how to publish, and they have a great distribution network. Their publication is high quality, glossy, easy to read, punctual and in some respects, of value.

We’re just not sure that we need to see the same ads twice a month, and we’re also not sure what the future direction is of this company. They have the publishing/distribution skills down but lack a clear message, purpose and direction.

There are two restaurants in Chalong named Kaneang. Both are recently renovated and specialize in Thai Food and Seafood. Kang Eang At The Pier is located as you’d guess… at the Pier in Chalong. The other restaurant, Kaneang 2 is located approximately 500 meters North up along the beach, (if you can call it that… walk it and you’ll see why).

We find the food to be reasonably priced, the views are outstanding and the recent renovation is simply awesome. But the food is “hit or miss”. It’s hard to screw up good seafood, so if you keep it simple with your seafood order, you should be ok. But if you experiement and try a variety of the Thai dishes, they are not so good. The Tom Yam Soup for example is dreadful.

Kaneang at the pier is right at the base of the Chalong Pier. While both Kanaeng restuarants have been remodeled, this one is a little bit more extravegant and luxurious. It’s very nice… except the big heavy dumb ugly wood chairs they have in front of the bar blocking your seaview.
 
Both restaurants specialize in Thai Food and Seafood. and while the food is reasonably priced and the views outstanding, it’s a hit-or-miss menu. A lot of dishes aren’t so good tasting. 
 
While the recent renovation is simply awesome. But the food is “hit or miss”. A lot of inconsistencies with the food and drinks. While I love the chocolate shake’s there, they change every time depending on who makes it.

 This is actually just a revision of the Thailand Condominium Act B.E. 2522 (1979):

Section 19.    Alien person, or alien juristic person, may own condominium unit provided that such alien person or alien juristic person of the following qualifications:

(1)    Alien person permitted to resident in the Kingdom under Immigration Law.

(2)    Immigrants permitted to enter the Kingdom under BOI law.

(3)    Registered Alien Juristic Person under Section 97 and 98 of the Registered Land Code to become Thai Juristic Person.

(4)    Alien Juristic Person which has been qualified under the Announcement of The Revolution Committee No. 281 dated 24 November B.E. 2515 and the Certificate of BOI granted under BOI Law.

(5)    Alien or Alien Juristic Person who brought foreign currency into the Kingdom or withdrew the money from their bank account in baht currency of foreign residents, or withdrew their deposit bank account from foreign bank.

Being the 54 th Year of the Present Reign His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has been graciously pleased to proclaim that:
 
Whereas it is expedient to amend the law governing condominium.
This Act has some provision concerning Section 29 and Section 48 of the
Constitution of Kingdom of Thailand prescribing that the limitation of
right and liberty of a person shall be done by virtue of law.
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE KING, by and with the advice and consent of the
National Assembly, as follows:
 
Section 1 This Act shall be called The Condominium Act (No. 3) B.E. 2542.
 
Section 2 This Act shall come into force as from the day following the date of its publication in the Government Gazette.

Enacted on the 21st Day of April B.E. 2522
Being the 34th Year of the Present Reign.

Where as the Assembly of the People’s Representatives has passed a resolution that it is deemed expedient to promulgate the law on condominium. 

Be it therefore enacted by the King, by and with the advice and consent of the Assembly of the People’s Representatives, as follows: 

Section 1.  This Act is called The Condominium Act B.E. 2522 

Section 2.  It shall come into force after 180 days has elapsed from its publication in Government Gazette.   

Section 3.  All other laws, regulations and rules, in so far as they deal with matters govern by the said Acts, or are inconsistent with its provisions, shall be repealed.
